What if My Baby Poops on Things During Our Newborn Session?

This is a common concern for parents….you are not alone! If your baby poops or pees during their newborn photography session, don't worry; as they say, “sh*t happens” and photographers are accustomed to handling it. NO BIG DEAL! We always laugh & say it’s our fault for taking their little diapers off…haha!

Here's how we handle those “OH, SH*T” Moments:

1. Laugh: It is quite funny and we always know that we’re flirting with fire when we take those nappies off.

2. Clean-Up: We do a quick change of anything that was soiled, clean baby off & throw any effected blankets or outfits into a sanitation cycle in our in-studio washing machine,

3. Switch Up: Our studio is stocked with so many options for newborns, once we’ve cleaned up, we grab fresh outfits, props & blankets and move on.

4. Patience: Sometimes in the process of clean-up, baby may rouse a bit. We’ll take the time to let Mom or Dad cuddle, soothe or feed baby before resuming.

5. Safety First: After a blowout, and clean-up, we’re sure to wash our hands thoroughly. Keeping your baby healthy is our top priority.

6. Sense of Humor: It's not uncommon for parents to feel embarrassed or stressed when their baby poops during a photoshoot. We have a great sense of humor about it and invite you to feel the same. There is no reason to feel bad at all about it!

Remember that newborn photography sessions are designed to capture those precious early moments of your baby's life, and they are meant to be relaxed and enjoyable for both the baby and the parents. So, if your baby has a diaper mishap during the shoot, don't worry about it. We’ve got you!
