Katie & Nick's Lake Placid Wedding by Tracie Jean Photo Studios Voted Cincinnati's Best Portrait & Wedding Photographer

As much as Tony and I love Cincinnati, Ohio, sometimes it’s nice to venture out to new places and have some adventure outside of the OTR. When we first learned of the possibility that we would be photographing a wedding in Lake Placid, NY in the Fall…I’m not gonna lie…we freaked! What an opportunity :) Best of all, I know the bride’s mom from the photography world! After working out a few details we firmed up the date and plans were set in motion for us to do our first Lake Placid destination wedding for Katie & Nick.

Usually, we have time to get to know our brides and grooms a bit in an engagement session but because of distance and schedules it just didn’t make sense. We met Katie and Nick the night before their wedding in person. Two wonderful people, perfect for each other and so much in love!

The day of the wedding came and the weather was a ridiculously gorgeous 70 degrees and sunny! The sky was a perfect blue and the lake was like glass. Fall was just beginning to paint the leaves and the tints of auburn, rust and yellow had begun. Hair and makeup by Katherine Elizabeth Salon mastered the looks for the day as well. Every little thing went off without one single hitch from the ceremony atop the dock of Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort, to the gondola ride after the wedding over the lake, to the reception festivities and even dancing on into the night.
